This is a “blog formatted story” and therefore, best read in reverse (i.e. chronological) order …. It was recorded in real time but was published post-employment for obvious reasons… There are lessons to be learned from all of our experiences…

New Job – Yea!
Posted by AAL on August 26, 2005
I’m very excited about the new job in Library. It should be both challenging and fun. This is my first job in librarianship other than the job I had as a student – which I enjoyed. My first meetings with other faculty members were at the interview. I was encouraged to hear that the library group works as a team, and that innovation and new ideas are very much supported. I would expect nothing less from those in a profession known to strongly advocate:
- freedom of information
- freedom of ideas
- and freedom of creative expression.
Other faculty at the university seem to be content here. I am not sure if that is representative of all faculty or just the group that tends to be involved in “public relations” types of events.
