All I have ever heard here is that one faculty member cannot supervise another faculty member and so I am very confused about Miserly accusing me of being insubordinate. Don’t I first have to be subordinate? Where does it say that I have to do what he tells me to do? If he told me I had to wash his car and I said “No”, would I be insubordinate? I have asked him for clarification of this point and he just forwards a section of the CBA that does not address the question, in any way?
Maybe he thinks that he is in charge of Library since he has been there the longest? All that means is that he realized along the way that he would never be hired anywhere else – so seize that security!

Blondie and Bully-boy decided to try for promotion again and their peers said NO! again. This is to be expected considering their teaching is bad and they lack an understanding of real scholarship. What I find to be irritating about the scenario is that Boobie and others encouraged Doc not to try for promotion. We think that the reason for this is because he would have had a much greater chance than Blondie or Bully and they didn’t want the added competition. And all for naught – even without the competition they couldn’t make themselves look good.

Summer time is supposed to be a quiet time, a time to catch up on your work. But here it is just another chapter in the “you need to do what I say” saga. Miserly came by to share more arguments with me on why I must fill in schedules in the manner prescribed by him. The newest “rationale” include:
- What if you told your husband that you were going to work and he couldn’t find you there? (We may have bigger problems? Cell phone?)
- What if you commit a crime (like my predecessor?) – the police would need to see when you were working.
- The state would need to see your hours if there was an audit.
He is obviously getting desperate for me to submit to his will. It is comical. He is so determined that the Library continue to operate in the same manner in did in 1967 that he is irrational and ridiculous.

Along with his other harassing behaviors, Miserly has taken to harping on the filling in of the many faculty schedules. (Previous Post) He knows that everyone finds it to be annoying and time consuming and unnecessary and that seems to fuel his nagging. Not a week goes by that we don’t hear: “Don’t forget to fill in the schedule!”, “Did you fill in the schedule?” “Fill in the schedule.” “Make sure you fill in the schedule the way I want you to!” The amount of time that he spends checking who has fulfilled their duty makes one wonder what else he has to do? Not much?
Since the schedule is logically unneeded and redundant, I have chosen to withdraw from the process and have notified the “others” that if they need to know where I am, check my fully filled in and available Outlook schedule, the only one I will be keeping up to date.
