I told Sleepy that I could not do Reference hours this week because of the short week and the quitting of my staff.
Miserly came to my office today and demanded to know what I would be doing this week at work. I was surprised at his aggressive tone – I know, why, you ask? He proceeded to launch into a tirade about how he had changed his plans this week to cover my need not to be on the Reference Desk.
I should be used to this kind of thing by now, but I was taken aback. I am not required to justify my work schedule to him – he is a co-worker, not a boss – and yet he takes it upon himself to harass me whenever he gets the opportunity. His manner and questioning are clearly unprofessional but where to address my concerns? Retire already!
